Cable TV operator launches a new-generation communication network in Brest
TVSAT, a local cable television operator in Brest, today launched a new service based on a new-generation fiber-optic communication network. The Metroethernet technology allows to relay a big number of TV channels, with subsribers being able to use the service at high speed of up to 100Mbits/sec, to create local networks and have a high-quality access to the internent.
TVSAT CEO Yury Haliulin said that Metroethernet would cover all the districts of Brest within the next several years. Currently, the service is available only to the residents of the central part of Brest.
This state-of-the-art technology has been implemented only in the new housing districts of Moscow and in West European countries.
