Candidate Sannikau's election ads removed from Autoradio FM air in Minsk
Presidential candidate Andrei Sannikau's election ads were run on air of Autoradio FM in Minsk for two days only. On December 17 at 1100, the broadcasts of the advertising paid by Sannikau for the money from his legal election fund, were removed from air. Charter97 reports the ads were cut due to the pressure from the authorities.
Autoradio is the only radio station, which agreed to broadcast election ads of alternative candidates. It is allowed by the Belarusian electoral laws to buy airtime, using an official candidate's election fund.
