Catholic priest Jozas Bulka burried in Vitsebsk region
Renowned Catholic priest Jozas Bulka was today burried in the village of Mosar in the Vitsebsk region. He died on January 9 at the age of 84, reminds STV. He served in Mosar for many years and became known for pomoting a healthy life style and created an alcohol-free zone in the village. He dedicated dozens of years to promote this wor, including the opening of a anti-alcohol museum at the local St Hanna Cathedral.
In 2006, the pastor received a Francisk Skaryna's medal -- Belarus's highest state award -- for promoting spiritual values and a healthy life style.
In 2009, Jozas Bulka found himself in the middle of a political scandal. He was accused of cooperating with the Soviet special services by dumping Lithuanian resistance fighters to the Soviet counter-intelligence.
