CEC issues decree on contenders' individual financial funds
The Central Election Commission issued a decree on creation of individual financial funds by presidential contenders, reports BelaPAN. According to the document, a presidential contender's financial fund can be formed by 3 sources: a contender's personal finance (up to 50 base fees), voluntary donations of citizens (no more than 10 base fees) and voluntary donations of juridical persons (up to 30 base fees). Thus, an individual financial fund cannot contain more than 3 000 base fees (105 million roubles). The money from the fund can be used to pay for the time on air and advertisement space in the printed media, rental of premises, equipment, transport expenses, and printed agitation materials.
Presidential contenders will have to report on how they spend money from this fund. The money which would not be spent should be returned to the donators.
