Central Election Committee registers 12 CIS observers
The mission of long-term election observers will begin in Belarus on October 20. 35 long-term observers from CIS member states are expected to watch the elections. The CEC secretary Mikalai Lazavik has informed ERB about it. Lazavik: "The head of the CIS mission Sergei Lebedev has received certificate #1 today. He has noted that there will be about 300 short-term and 35 long-term observers, I think the OSCE mission will be similar”.
By the way, the Central Election Commission has already registered 66 internal observers. 4 of them are representatives of political parties: three people are from the governmental Communist Party and one person is from the BNF Party. 40 people have been sent to watch the elections by civil associations. The majority of them are members of “Belaya Rus”, the BRUY and Belarusian Women’s Union.
