CIS leaders approve Chernobyl conference
Participants of an unofficial CIS summit in Yalta have approved the idea of conducting an international conference dedicated to the overcoming of consequences of Chernobyl disaster in Kiev in April 2011. It is said in the joint statement of the Presidents of Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, reports ITAR-TASS. The conference “25th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster” will be dedicated to the modernization of the object constructed over the damaged power unit of the station and the possibility of turning it into an ecologically safe system.
