The Clinton's Bench has been once again destroyed in Kurapaty. Vandals broke it into four pieces. Social activist Zmitser Dashkevich posted a photo of the destroyed bench on Twitter.
According to Euroradio, on December 19 last year, a vandal with a sledgehammer and an ax wanted to destroy the Clinton's Bench, but was stopped by defenders of the memorial.
Kurapaty is a mass burial site of the Stalin-era purge victims located on the outskirts of Minsk. The Clinton's Bench was established in memory of the visit by then-American President Bill Clinton to the Memorial in early 1994. It was later destroyed several times by vandals, but Kurapaty’s defenders would restore the bench.
