Council of Europe disappointed but still has hopes

Such estimation has been declared by the Council of Europe General Secretary Torbjorn Jangland with regard to violent dispersal of the protest action in Minsk.  Such brutal actions against the opposition can deprive Belarus from another opportunity "to put an end to its voluntary isolation from Europe", thinks Jangland. 

At the same time, the General Secretary stated they would support any sincere initiatives which could bring Belarus closer to the values and membership in the Council of Europe.
