Council of Europe's secretary general concerned over human rights in Belarus

Council of Europe's Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland discussed with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle the situation with human rights in Belarus, Georgia and Russia during a visit to Berlin. The two high-ranking European officials noted that the Council of Europe and the German Foreign Ministry wanted Belarus to continue with reforms, especially in the field of human rights.

The Belapan news agency reports that Westerwelle and Jagland also discussed issues associated with the institutional reform of the Council of Europe.
