Decision on denomination pending
The chairwoman of Belarus National Bank reckons the denomination of Belarusian currency is necessary.
The decision on denomination is yet to be taken, but it is necessary, Belarus National Bank chair Nadzeya Yermakova told Euroradio's correspondent during a telephone hotline news conference organized by BELTA news agency.
Nadzeya Yermakova: "I cannot tell when. We need to find the right period of time. There's no great growth of inflation now, but there occurred certain currency issues, so we should not raise this question now. Yet, the denomination is necessary."
Euroradio reminds that Nadzeya Yermakova previously said in a conversation with Euroradio that the year 2014 was possible for denomination. However, there's no sense to conduct it if the level of inflation is not high.
