Deputy contender made to withdraw due to participation in Freedom Day
A deputy contender for a seat in Rudau rural district council Nastassya Azarka (“Young Belarus”) has been informed that the election commission has forbidden her to take part in the elections. The head of “Young Belarus” Artur Finkevich has informed ERB about it.
Finkevich: "The reason for removing the candidature of Nastassya Azarka from the elections was her participation in the celebration of Freedom Day in Minsk on March 25. They told her she would be removed from the elections because she followed an unauthorized itinerary. At the same time the commission did not want to give her an official explanatory note with the reason for the removal of Nastassya’s candidature from the elections”.
It also became known that the administration of Hrodna flax-scutching mill is looking for reasons not to prolong Azarka’s contract.
