Does Dalia Grybauskaitė want Lukashenka to win election?

The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė has stated that Aliaksandr Lukashenka's victory in presidential election would help to grant stability and limit Russia's influence in the post-Soviet countries. This was informed by Reuters with a reference to diplomatic sources. According to Reuters, the Lithuanian President stated that Lukashenka's victory was preferable at the meeting with the EU Ambassador in Vilnius this month. The opposition is not serious and has no chance in any elections. Lukashenka can win with 99%, but he will do it with 75% in order to please the EU. This was what Grybauskaitė said, according to the diplomatic source.

At the same time, Dalia Grybauskaitė's Press-Secretary Linas Balsis refused to comment upon the Reuters report. However, he underlined the Lithuanian leader had appealed to her Belarusian colleague asking him to follow the democratic standards, reports Radio Liberty.
