EU urges Belarusian authorities to stop repressions against peaceful demonstrators
The European Union urges the Belarusian authorities to stop using force against their own citizens.
It demands that Belarusians should be allowed to use their main rights including the right of assembly and freedom of speech. The appeal was also issued by the Slovakian Embassy to our country that carries out the functions of a local representative office of the EU on behalf of Portugal.
Let us remind you that a severe dispersal of participants of an action in support of Belarusian independence took place in Minsk on December 12. As a result, a youth activist Zmitser Hvedaruk was delivered in hospital with a brain concussion.
