Flower festival in Zhaludok (photo)
Traditionally, the best flower compositions, bouquets and costumes have been chosen.
The jury chose winners in several categories – from compositions created on the territory of organizations to village houses. Elderly people and schoolchildren took part in the contest. People presented historical, cultural and natural traditions in their works. They competed in the riot for colour, new ideas and originality.
Flowers were also used for costumes at the festival. Girls plaited them into their hair and attached them to clothes. Excursions across the town and presentations of local agricultural manors were also organized.
People could visit local fairs where they could buy honey, medicative herbs and souvenirs and taste local dishes. The festival ended with a concert and a dance party.
