Former state control committee official arrested over graft

Henadz Haponenka, the former head of financial investigations department at the State Control Committee, has been arrested, the Office of the Prosecutor General told Belapan.
A criminal case was opened against Haponenko, but it remains unknown on what charges.

Unofficial reports suggest that the former financial police official is suspected of office abuse. According to Ezhednevnik e-newspaper, Henadz Haponenka allegedly provided cover for a certain Minsk-based businessman for five years.
