Freeloaders tax bill ready
Svyatlana Kretava from Ministry of Finance tells MPs that the new law envisages taxes for jobless citizens who take use of social benefits.
She made a speech at the House of Representatives on Tuesday. According to the law, citizens who do not work or pay taxes but use social services will be taxed.
The new bill will be discussed by the government, interfax.by quotes Kretava.
The notion of ‘freeloaders’ existed in the Soviet Union’s Criminal Code. Poet Joseph Brodsky, future Nobel Prize laureate, was convicted according to it.
