FSB: Terrorist attacks were planned to target Sochi Olympics sites
The Russian special services prevented a terrorist act with the help of their colleagues from the US, Germany, France, Austria, Germany and Georgia.
A group of people prepared terrorist acts in Sochi, director of the Russian Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov announced on April 9. “The group was busted thanks to a joint effort,” RIA Novosti quotes Bortnikov. He mentioned no other details of the international special operation.
It is not clear whether the leader of Chechen rebels Dokka Umarov was connected with this particular terrorism activity. Umarov was recently killed at the border of Ingushetia. His body has not been found yet.
