“Gazprom claims it paid off whole debt to Belarus
“Gazprom” has paid for gas transit across the Belarusian territory and does not owe anything to Belarus. A representative of the Russian concern Sergei Kupriyanov has claimed it commenting on the Belarusian leader’s statement, informs RIA “Novosti”.
According to Mr.Kupriyanov, “Gazprom” paid $228 million to Minsk for gas transit on June 24. However, Minsk demanded and keeps insisting on the sum of 260 million dollars. The difference is caused by different views on the transit tariff: Belarus insists on 1.88 dollars for one thousand cubic meters while Russia – on 1.45 dollars.
