Gazprom delegation's visit to Minsk cancelled
The visit of a working group from Russian energy giant Gazprom, scheduled for June 28, will not take place, reports Belapan news agency, quoting the press office of the Belarusian government. Beltransgaz CEO Uladzimir Mayorau explained to the official news agency BELTA that there was no need for Gazprom delegation's arrival in Minsk any longer, because the two sides "can work remotely". According to Mayorau, Gazprom had sent its version of the contract supplement on transit fees to Beltransgaz. "We studied and approved it and sent it back to Gazprom on June 27", Mayorau said.
"I think that we, as planned before, will sign all the necessary documents on Wednesday or Thursday", added Mayorau. He did not rule out that the supplement to the contract could also be drafted remotely. "Technically, it is possible", he said.
Gazprom declined to comment on the cancelled visit to Minsk.
