Gerashchenko: Yanukovich and Azarov become Russian citizens
Russian President Vladimir Putin has granted Russian citizenship to runaway ex-President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich and ex-PM Mykola Azarov.
Advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko announced it, censor.net.ua reports. Yanukovich and Azarov will settle in Russia for a long time, he said. “The families of Yanukovich, Pshonak and Azarov have managed to receive the Russian citizenship from Putin and will feel safe and cosy in Russia now,” Gerashchenko said. “According to the Constitution, Russia never extradites its citizens, be their serial murderers or maniacs. Ukraine doesn’t do it either.”
The runaways received the Russian citizenship thanks to Putin’s secret order, he added.
