Government to raise fines for failure to save water, energy
The Council of Ministers has filed a draft legislation on amendments in the Administrative Code of Belarus, which envisages harsher penalties against physical and legal entities for the irrational use of energy resources in the housing sector, Raman Shyrma from the Belarus's Ministry of Economy tols reporters on December 11.
"Electricity accounts for up to 80 percent of water supply costs. Therefore, along with the growth in prices for energy resources, the fines for poor water-saving performance will also be increased," the official said.
