Heineken eyes Belarus' brewery
The owners of the Belarusian beer company Syabar are in talks with the Heineken Group over the sale of their Babruysk-based brewery. The sides are at the stage of completing an investment evaluation of the Belarusian company, AFN reports, citing a source close to negotiations.
The possible schedule and cost of the deal are not being revealed. Syabar's owner Detroit Investment Ltd. (DI) sold three PIT breweries to the Heineken Group four years ago.
DI has a reputation of the company that uses its knowledge of the post-Soviet markets, buys breweries, introduces the Western transparent quality, accounting and sales standards, and then re-sell them to industry's world leaders.
