Heineken Open`er Festival to start with film about Belarusian rockers “Musical Partisan”
An ethno-trio “Troitsa” will give a performance at an international event Heineken Open`er Festival not far from Gdansk this week-end. The Belarusians’ scene colleagues will be Editors, The Racounters, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Jay-Z and other world stars. ERB will be there!
A theatrical marathon Heineken Open`er Festival will start at the “Baby Doly” aerodrome on the shore of the Baltic Sea on July 4-6. Only Radiohead is missing at this the starry festival as they have been ignoring Poland as well as Russia since their first visit.
Olya Krakouska: We have tried to invite this band but we have not been successful yet. We are hoping that Radiohead will perform at the Open’er in the future.
A representative of the Alter Art agency, the organizer of the festival, Volha Krakouskaya has given an interview to ERB. She notes that Alter Art has decided to pay attention to musicians from Eastern Europe. Besides Belarusian “Troitsa”, there will be Russian musicians invited:
Olya Krakouska: We have invited a Russian band “Everything is made China” this year and we are very proud that they have agreed to perform for us.
The territory of Heineken Open`er Festival will be expanded this year. There will be 7 stages functioning almost non-stop. One of them will be a delicatessen store. Olya Krakouskaya described some zests of this year’s festival:
Olya Krakouska: We have introduced the “Alter card” system to pay for services and goods at the festival. It will function alongside with the traditional coupons. One of the greatest innovations will be a theatrical zone “Alter space” and a media-zone for film projection.
Moreover, s festival guide will be sold at Open’er for the first time. It will contain a detailed description of the festival town, delicatessen shops and other useful information. A 30-PCs Internet café will be open there too.
Let us add that Heineken Open`er Festival dates back to a Warsaw concert of Chemical Brothers in 2002. Besides “Troitsa”’s concert, there will be one more Belarusian zest at the festival: a Miraslau Dembinski’s documentary about Belarusian rock musicians “Musical Partisan” will be projected there.
Olya Krakouska: I would like to invite all ERB listeners to Heineken Open’er Festival 2008. You simply must attend it!
This is what Olay Krakouskaya, a representative of the campaign organizing the festival, said. ERB, namely Dzyanis Dzyuba, will be there tomorrow. Watch festival events on air and on ERB’s website www.euroradio.fm
