Homel trial for flags postponed for a week
The trial of the leader of Homel affiliate of “Young Belarus” Ivan Zaitsau has been postponed until September 20 although it had to take place on September 13. The reason for it was the fact that witnesses had not arrived in court. The leader of “Young Belarus” Artur Finkevich has informed ERB about it.
Zaitsau was detained on the morning of September 13. Activists wanted to hoist a white-red-white flag in the central square of Homel to celebrate the City Day. Policeman and KGB members only detained Ivan. Reports about administrative infringements were drawn up against him. The activist was accused of using bad language and disobedience to the police.
