Hrodna opposition activists fail to get to precinct election commissions through court
Hrodna Lenin and Kastrychnitski District Courts declined the complaints of the United Civic Party's representatives with regard to refusal to include them into precinct election commissions today.
The same decision was taken by the court in Astravets. 38 electoral precincts were formed in Astravets district. The UCP suggested 25 representatives to the precinct election commissions, but none of them was included.
Let us remind you, similar court hearings ended with no positive result for the members of the Belarusian Social Democratic Assembly and the BPF party yesterday. The opposition activists insist on conducting another session of the district administrations in order they reconsider the squad of the election commissions. The judges' responses are identical: "the complaints are not grounded", "the session of the administration was conducted in accordance with the legislation", "representatives of political parties make no less than one third of the commission".
Members of political parties and public associations indeed make 44,6% of the commissions in Hrodna region. Representatives of the left party "Fair World", the UCP and the Belarusian Social Democratic Assembly make less than 1%.
