Initiators of “Chernobyl Way” do not agree to proposed itinerary
Minsk authorities have proposed a manifestation itinerary the initiators of “Chernobyl Way” do not agree to.
Officials are ready to allow people to gather near the Academy of Sciences and proceed along Surhanau Street towards Bangalore Square. However, the initiators, namely Lyavon Barshcheuski and Vitsuk Vyachorka, would like to gather near the Academy of Sciences at 12 p.m. on April 26 and proceed along Independence Avenue towards Yakub Kolas Square. Then they would like to walk towards the crossroads of Karastayanau and Arlouskaya Streets. A Chernobyl Chapel is situated there.
BelaPAN informs that Lyavon Barshcheuski refers to the fact that the sidewalk of Surhanau Street is still being repaired and it is impossible to lead people there. That is why he and other initiators have sent letters to Minsk City Executive Committee informing that it is impossible to organize the manifestation in the way suggested by the authorises.
