Islamic State destroys Palmyra's triumphal arch
Terrorists of the Islamic State group have blown up the ancient Roman Triumphal Arc in Palmyra in the centre of Syria. It was built over 1800 years ago. The vandals used a lot of explosives, witnesses say. Experts call the act a tragedy for the whole humanity, BBC reports.
The terrorist group has already destroyed two ancient temples in Palmyra earlier – the shrine of Baal Shamin and the Temple of Bel that were had been announced world heritage sites by UNESCO. The Islamic State is probably planning to completely destroy the ancient city.
