“Kastus Kilinouski grant programme not to be closed down”
This announcement was made by the programme’s director Yan Malitski. He said it to refute rumours about its possible closing down. The rumours appeared after the BT channel’s programme “Panarama” where one of the programme’s students described the terrible life he led in Poland. Not long ago the same person informed Polish mass media he was cooperating with KGB.
The programme is not closing down and Poland will be ready to accept more students if necessary. The organizers will try to avoid mistakes made in the past. When asked about the criteria for choosing students Yan Malitski said briefly:
“You are in a hurry but it’s only March, there is no need to hurry”.
Belated organization of the programme was criticized last year.
Whether to expect new students in June? Anyway, now some students are returning home after having failed their exams.
The programme’s organizers refused to tell us how many such students were there and only noted that “6 students haven’t started their studies yet”, but, according to unofficial sources, there are about 80 students who were excluded or who dropped out of their own free will.
