Last hearing in Zdvizhkov's caricature case to take place tomorrow

The Minsk City Court on January 17 will hear the final word of Alexander Zdvizhkov. It is expected to issue a formal verdict tomorrow, the court told the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
Zdvizhkov is facing charges of "inciting a religious hostility" after he reprinted the caricatures for Mohammed from the Danish press in the Zgoda newspaper in 2006. The journalist worked as the deputy editor-in-chief of this newspaper and signed the issue for the press.

The investigation was opened in February 2006 and soon filed with a court.

Zdvizhkov fled abroad and was detained in November 2007 when he came to attend his father's grave. He has been being held at a KGB custody for two months.
