Latvia to ratify agreement on border-line movement with Belarus within a month
Commission on Foreign Affairs of the Latvian Parliament approved the project of agreement on border-line non-visa movement between Latvia and Belarus ("Agreement on simlifying of movement of inhabitants of the border zone") in the first reading on September 26.
Press-center of the Commission on Foreign Affairs: "The draft agreement will go through the first reading in Seimas. The second reading will take place some time later".
In any case, the procedure won't take more than a month, assured in the Press-center. Then the agreement is to be signed by the Latvian President.
At the same time, the Belarusian parliament has not received the project of the agreement yet. This was informed to the European Radio for Belarus by the Press-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrej Savinykh.
Let us remind you, that the agreement on borderline movement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Siarhej Martynau and his Latvian colleague Aivis Ronis on August 23 in Riga.
The Belarusian House of Representatives will consider a similar agreement with Poland - it has already been ratified by the Polish side - at their Autumn session. The agreement with Lithuania is still unsigned.
