Lazavik: Questions with regard to some contenders' signatures arose at once

According to the CEC Secretary, some members of the commissions have unexpectedly found their own names in the signature sheets. Questions with regard to signatures submitted by some presidential contenders arose at once. This was stated by the Central Election Commission Secretary Mikalaj Lazavik today. Let us remind you, the signature collection stage of the electoral campaign finished on Friday. The 100-thousand barrier necessary for registration was crossed by 11 persons.

"Some members of the commission were surprised to have found their own names in the signature sheets although they had not signed anything", — cites Lazavik's words RIA  Novosti. According to the CEC Secretary "there are suspicions" that some nomination group members could just study phonebooks, health centers, libraries and household utilities units databases,  instead of real collection of signatures.

Mikalaj Lazavik informed the biggest quantity of signatures had been submitted by the current leader of the state Aliaksandr Lukashenka — more than 1 million 100 thousand. Next comes Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu with more than 160 thousand. Andrej Sannikau goes third with 150 thousand, then Jaraslau Ramanchuk with 120 thousand signatures. Other contenders - Viktar Tsiareshchanka, Ryhor Kastusyou, Ales Mikhalevich, Mikalaj Statkevich, Vital Rymasheuski, Dzmitry Us and Uladzimir Pravalski have 105-120 thousand signatures each.

The signatures are to be checked for validity for 10 days. If more than 15% of signatures are considered invalid, all the rest are also considered invalid in that district, states The First TV-Channel.
