Liabedzka: I hope the policeman became guilty in the accident by chance

A presidential hopeful Jaraslau Ramanchuk got into a car accident on his way to meeting with voters in Rahachou this morning. The accident occurred because of the other party - a police sergeant.

The car with Ramanchuk, his representative Leanid Zaika and two other members of the candidate's initiative group, cannot be repaired. The Chairman of the United Civic Party Anatol Liabedzka has told Euroradio about this.

Anatol Liabedzka: “They were going from Homel to Rahachou this morning. When they were approaching the crossroads of the main way Homel-Minsk and the turning to Buda-Koshelevo, an automobile which was standing at the road side started maneuvering and went into the driveway. There was a collision, the car was demolished. It's good it was a new car - the security cushions worked. All the passengers got some blows and stress, some petty injuries, but luckily nothing serious happened”.

At present moment the car is being transported to Minsk by the evacuator. According to Liabedzka, they hope that the representative of the law-enforcement authorities became guilty in this accident by chance. At the same time, he said Ramanchuk had been warned to drive safely and be careful during his regional trips several days ago, and this had made them worry. The directive board of the party even forbade him to get back to Minsk right after the meetings, urging him to stay in the regional cities overnight. They said it was more convenient and the candidate would spend less time travelling this way.

As it became known to Euroradio, the policeman guilty in this accident also had not suffered much. Ramanchuk, who always takes a camera with him, and his allies have recorded all the accident circumstances via photo and video, in order this accident won't be used against the candidate later, says Liabedzka.

Now Ramanchuk is making a speech for Rahachou inhabitants. He has not cancelled previously planned trips despite the advice of his team. Tomorrow he is to meet with voters in Zhlobin, although Ramanchuk and other participants of the accident have not gone through proper medical examination and it is unclear whether any of them had concussion or any other injuries, says Liabedzka.
