Lidziya Yarmoshyna to leave for Rome today
Lidziya Yarmoshyna is leaving Belarus to spend a week in Rome today. The CEC chairperson is using the opportunity that appeared after the EU had suspended Belarus sanctions in October.
Yarmoshyna will go on her ‘Roman holiday’ together with her son. The economy class return tickets cost them 357 euro, she said.
The CEC chairperson will fly to Paris in January 2016. “Dreams are coming true,” she told journalists last week.
Lidziya Yarmoshyna used to be blacklisted by the EU and could not spend vacations on its territory.
Lidziya Yarmoshyna is 62. She was born in Slutsk. Yarmoshyna was head of the law service of Babruisk City Executive Committee in 1988-1996. She became CEC chairperson in 1996 and replaced Victar Hanchar in that position. Hanchar went missing three years later. She is planning to retire after the parliamentary elections in 2016.
