Lukashenka counts on France to improve ties with Europe

Accepting the new French Ambassador in Minsk Mireille Musso, Lukashenka stated that "France could take a weighed position when holding a full-fledged dialogue between Belarus and the European Union." "Our country has numerously stated its readiness for an open cooperation with Europe on the basis of mutual respect and benefits," Lukashenka noted.

Musso, in return, stressed her hopes for "democratic development of the Belarusian society" and the fulfillment by Belarus of the obligations taken upon by this country in December 2006 after the meeting with the European Troika.
