Lukashenka in Crimea to celebrate Yuanukovich's birthday
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has left Vitsebsk to Crimea in Ukraine, where he is taking part in celebrations to mark Ukraine president Victor Yanukovich's 60th birthday anniversary.
Victor Yanukovich was born on July 9, 1950 near Donetsk. His mother is a Ukrainian and his father is a Belarusian from the Vitsebsk region.
In 1967, 17-year-old Yanukovich was tried for robbery. He served one year and seven months out of his three-year sentence and was freed under amnesty.
In 2006, he was elected to the Supreme Council and became the leader of the Party of Regions faction. In 2006-2007 he served as Ukraine's prime minister.
In 2007, he was replaced by Yulia Tymoshenko.
During the 2010 presidential elections, Yanukovich won Tymoshenko by a margin of 3.5 percent.
He is married to Lyudmila Yanukovich, has two sons and three grandsons. His hobbies include tennis, hunting.
