Lukashenka grants ranks to heads of law enforcement agencies
The official decision about the changes was taken on May 7.
According to the press service of the head of state, on May 7, Alyaksandr Lukashenka granted military and special ranks to heads of law enforcement agencies.
The Defense Minister Andrei Raukou and KGB chairman Valery Vakulchyk received the rank of "Lieutenant-General." Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich received the title of "Lieutenant-General of police". Minister of Emergency Situations Uladzimir Vashchanka became the Lieutenant-General of Internal Service . Attorney General Alyaksandr Kanyuk received the title of "State Counselor of Justice of the First Class."
