Lukashenka mentions Biabenin and "Charter'97"

During the press conference with representatives of the Russian media, Aliaksandr Lukashenka mentioned the deceased journalist Aleh Biabenin and the opposition web-site "Charter'97": "We have snap-shots... maybe these are accidental snap-shots, how the journalists teach Shushkevich when to drop a tear and what to say if a journalist hangs himself... Biabenin. Frankly speaking, I heard about this journalist for the first time when he hanged himself. He wrote something at the "Charter'97" web-site (you probably know what the Charter'97 is) - the opposition site, in the Internet. No one ever saw or heard about him anywhere else. <…> However, Shushkevich said it would be difficult for us to substitute such a great journalist”.

The President used this example to illustrate how Russian journalists from Putin's team "whack" the Belarusian government.
