Lukashenka thinks about Belarusian school in Riga

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has entrusted the government with rendering assistance to the Belarusian school in Riga, informs BelTA. That school will receive furniture, equipment, PCs, training equipment, textbooks and toys from Belarus – everything needed for studies and rest. Pupils from that school will also be able to spend vacations in the “Little Bison” camp in Belarus and to travel to Belarus. The Belarusian school was created in Riga in 1994. This is the only Belarusian school in Latvia. The number of children wishing to study there keeps increasing every year. There are 130 pupils now and 70% of them are ethnic Belarusians.

Meanwhile, only 3% of Minsk children study in Belarusian. On the whole, less than 2% of city schoolchildren study in Belarusian all over the country, reports naviny.by.
