Malfunction at Rovno nuclear plant in Ukraine

One of the bearings on the generator shaft was on Saturday night overheated at the second block of the Rovno nuclear power plant, according to the Ukrainian Ministry for Emergencies.

The transformer heat-generator was automatically switched off, reducing the output almost halfway down of the second block of the nuclear power plant for the period of repairs.

The radioactive and fire situation at the power plant remains normal, according to ITAR-TASS news agency.
