Martin Schulz demands to see Russian ‘black list’ of MEPs
The politician has also demanded to name the reasons why the MEPs are not allowed to enter Russia.
President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz made the statement on Wednesday, October 1, RBK reports. Schulz sent a letter to the Russian Ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov and noted that “the EU had imposed its sanctions on Russian officials logically and transparently for their actions connected with the annexation of Crimea and destabilization of the situation in East Ukraine.” Russia imposed its restrictions ‘randomly’ without explaining them, the President of the European Parliament thinks.
Schulz sent the inquiry after the Russian authorities had not allowed EU Commissioner Rebecca Harms to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. The leader of The Greens had been going to attend the trial of Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko.
