Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not pay attention to UN Human Rights Committee’s decision

A Brest human rights activist Raman Kislyak has received a reply of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Kislayak asked the Ministry to make the national legislation correspond to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
In particular, the human rights activist has explained to ERB that it concerned executed people. Relatives cannot get their bodies and they are not informed about their burial places. The UN Human Rights Committee decided that it violated the rights of relatives of the executed in 2003 when it considered the cases “Bandarenka against Belarus” and Lyashkevich against Belarus.”

According to the reply signed by the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleinik, the human rights activist has been informed that there were no violations in such cases.
