Ministry of Justice refuses to register BCD in spite of Grybauskaitė's request
According to the Ministry of Justice, founders of the "Belarusian Christian Democracy" deny their membership in the party. Several founders have indeed denied their membership under the pressure, explained the Co-Chairman of the party's steering committee Paval Sieviarynets. People usually sign such denials under the threat of losing their jobs, says he.
Sieviarynets: "In spite of appeals of European governments, EP members and human rights activists the authorities are still afraid to register the BCD. Even Dalia Grybauskajtė has raised the issue of the BCD registration at the presidential level several days ago".
