Miss Minsk scandal: Morality council to look into nightclubs
"We do not need anxiety, we just need to assess the organizers,” head of the council said.
Head of the morality council Mikalai Charhinets has not seen the photos that caused the recent Miss Minsk scandal. However, the morality council will consider the problem. Negligent organizers have left Minsk and the city authorities holding the bag, Charhinets thinks.
Mikalai Charhinets: "There is so much ado, you cannot ignore it. We need to assess it. I think that such contests require honesty. They should not select participants because they are somebody’s acquaintances or because they may be used in the financial sense later. The choice should be based on intellect, beauty, ethics and perception. They should not choose girls haphazardly, nearly in brothels. They should be more serious about it. But we do not need anxiety; we need to assess the organizers.”
The council will collect papers and make a conclusion. Mikalai Charhinets has not seen the photos yet. The council will also consider the activities of the nightclubs where such photo sessions are organized. “Of course we will look into it,” Charhinets added.
