Montpellier robber surrenders
Both hostages are safe. The man has let them off.
The armed robber who took hostages in a jewelry shop in Montpellier has surrendered to the police, RIA Novosti refers to French mass media.
The criminal took two women aged about 40 hostage – the jeweler’s wife and a shop assistant. Both of them are safe now – the robber has let them off.
The robbery was not connected with the terrorist acts committed by Islamists in Paris on Wednesday-Friday, Montpellier prosecutor Christophe Barret said.
