More than 60 opposition members detained during 5 days in Belarus

More than 60 democratic activists were detained in Belarus from July 20 till July 24. The information has been provided by the Committee of protection of victims of repressions “Salidarnast” of the movement “For Freedom”.
13 people were detained during the motor race organized to express solidarity with Zmitser Dashkevich in Shklou. A protocol for distribution of printed editions was drawn up against Syarhei Hirkin.

Ales Milinets was detained on the road from Salihosrk to Mahileu. Kіryla Matskevіch and Uladzіmіr Syarheeu were sentenced to 10 and 15 days of detention for hanging out transparencies.

Maxim Serhiets was detained and beaten at Yakuba Kolas Square in Minsk. Policemen and KGB members searched the flat of an activist Nasta Nazarka in the evening.

A few dozen people returning from a Belarusian music festival “Basovishcha” were detained at the Polish-Belarusian border on July 22. Their passports were taken away, their luggage was searched and protocols were drawn up.

Pavel Sevyarynets, Alyaksei Sheіn, Syarhei Klyueu, Yury Volsan, Alyaksei Bondar, Valyantsіn Sakalouskі and Alyaksandr Charnyshou were sentenced to 7-15 days of detention for pasting leaflets inviting to visit the celebration of the Independence Day on July 27 and the “European March”. Maria Sheraya and Kasya Sahardzinava were fined.

Barys Harestki’s flat was searched. Alyaksey Shydlouski and Pavel Baranouski are waiting for the trial.
