MTS offers Razanau, Markavets a peaceful settlement deal
Lawyers for the mobile-phone operator MTS have offered poet Ales Razanau and artist Viktar Markavets to reach a peaceful agreement in the copyright dispute. MTS's Dzmitry Khodas said in a statement that MTS "was prepared to study the conditions of a peaceful settlement and make it in a written form". Lawyers for Razanau and Markavets are reported to have not rejected the proposal.
The poet was earlier in talks with MTS about a possible agreement, but the sides could not reach a deal then, reports Interfax.
Ales Razanau and Viktar Markavets have filed a lawsuit against the mobile phone operator, claiming that the company's logo was copied from their Egg Squares series. Back in 1992, the poet and the artist staged an exibit which displayed six paintings, depicting eggs inside the squares.
