National Assembly ready for "constructive dialogue" with EU
The Belarusian side consistently stands for increase of partnership and long-term full-scope mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union, informs Radio Liberty. This is declared in the statement of the presidium of the Council of Republic and the Council of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly in connection with the resoultion on Belarus, adopted by the European Parliament.
The National Assembly "is ready for a constructive dialogue, but exclusively on the basis of mutual respect and equality".
"Not the restrictive measures, but only the search of mutual understanding and interaction is the right way to solve problems", the statement says.
It is also stated that "a number of Western colleagues " have focused on the "emotional criticism of the forced actions of the Belarusian side". Like, the European Parliament "should not act as an initiator of EU's confrontation with its closest neighbours".
