New performance of “Free Theatre”: “New York’79”
The Free Theatre presented its new production “New York’79” in Minsk on June 4. It is directed according to a novel by an American writer Kathy Acker. "This performance is for adults, - said the producer of the Free Theatre Uladzimir Shcherban. - Kathy Acker’s difference from other writers is in the fact that she was not interested in studying people’s spirit. She was interested in the physiological part of life, in the body and sexuality”. Thus, characters that tend not to be mentioned will appear on the stage: prostitutes and mistresses – all those who survive with the help of sex.
