Nothing unexpected happens during radio-debates of presidential candidates
Radio-debates of presidential candidates have been broadcasted live today at 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on the Belarusian radio. No one has left the studio as a sign of protest this time. Only three candidates took part in the radio-debates - Ales Mikhalevich, Ryhor Kastusyou and Victar Tsiareshchanka.
Four more candidates sent their representatives to debate on the radio instead of them. Aliaksandr Fiaduta represented Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, Siarhej Martsaleu debated instead of Mikalaj Statkevich, Anatol Mikhnavets substituted Vital Rymasheuski, and Anatol Liabedzka spoke on behalf of Jaraslau Ramanchuk. Three more candidates - Aliaksandr Lukashenka, Dzmitry Us and Andrej Sannikau - did not participate in the debates at all.
The host was very discreet, asked no acute or provocative questions and interrupted the speakers only when their time was up. The debates went rather quiet, apart from several invectives made by Mikalaj Statkevich's representative Siarhej Martsaleu. For instance, he accused Belarusian television and radio that they first created a negative image of Europe, and then made an enemy from Russia. However, there was no argument in this regard.
The politicians were again united. They told about their programs, criticised Aliaksandr Lukashenka and stated that Belarus needed changes. The representatives of Vital Rymasheuski, Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu and Jaraslau Ramanchuk called on the voters to come to Kastrychnitskaya Square on December 19. Apart from this, the majority of speakers called on people not to vote pre-term.
The debates were closed by a common chant "Long Live Belarus!"
