Newly elected MPs to meet in Parliament today
Old and newly elected MPs will take part in a joint meeting in parliament today.
MP of the parliament of the 5th and 6th convocations will take part in a joint session today. Senators of the old and new convocations will also participate in the meeting. Alyaksandr Lukashenka is expected to attend it too.
The parliamentary election was held in Belarus on September 11. 110 MPs were elected. Officially, the turnout was almost 75%. No MPs were elected without competition – there were at least two candidates in every constituency.
Representatives of opposition parties and movements Alena Anisim and Hanna Kanapatskaya were elected MPs for the first time.
The newly-elected MPs will get down to work on October 11. The first session of the new Parliament will be held on this day.
